Psychological and linguistic examination of communication and text

Interdisciplinary examination of verbal influence, threats, manipulative features, the intended addressee and psychological perception of a message.

What the work includes

Examination draws on case materials, documents, questions from the court or a party, an interview, psychological methods and analysis of psychologically relevant context. The format depends on the task, participants' ages, the volume of materials and procedural status.

  • analysis of case materials and the questions posed;
  • a psychological interview and use of methods where necessary;
  • assessment of emotional state, relationships, perception and consequences;
  • comparison of results with documents and circumstances of the case;
  • preparation of a report, expert report review or analytical position.

Typical questions

  • what the psychologically relevant characteristics of the situation are;
  • whether there are signs of emotional experiences or a stress response;
  • what the nature of parent-child relationships is;
  • which circumstances may affect perception of the event;
  • whether the conclusions of a previous psychological examination are substantiated.
Important: psychological examination does not make psychiatric diagnoses or replace medical care. Psychiatric diagnostic questions must be addressed by appropriately qualified specialists.

Pricing

from RUB 90 000. The exact price depends on the volume of materials, the number of persons and questions, the need for in-person participation and urgency.

Psychological examination of information materials considers how a message is organised and psychologically relevant features of influence. If the questions involve linguistic meaning and verbal features, the need for a joint psychological and linguistic examination is determined.

Subject of examination

  • The complete information material, its form and sequence
  • Relationships between text, images, sound and video
  • Context of dissemination and characteristics of the presumed audience

Sample questions for the expert

  • Which psychologically relevant methods of influence are present in the material?
  • How are individual fragments related to the message's design and structure?
  • Which characteristics of addressing and presenting the message are relevant to the influence being examined?
  • Are the materials sufficient for a psychological conclusion, or is interdisciplinary examination required?

The final questions are formulated according to the objects and circumstances of the particular task.

What to prepare

  • The complete material in its original or most complete available form
  • Source, date and circumstances of dissemination
  • Publication context and information about the presumed audience
  • Specific questions and the report requiring review

How the examination is conducted

The material is analysed as a whole. Its structure, addressee, methods of presentation and combination of sign systems are described separately. Linguistic interpretation is distinguished from psychological conclusions; where necessary, a team of several specialists is determined.

Scope and limitations

Examination of material does not replace assessment of a particular person. The content of a publication cannot automatically establish any reader's actual reaction, a medical diagnosis or the legal classification of actions.

What the deliverable records

The report explains the features detected, their connection with the object and the grounds for the answer. An interdisciplinary examination identifies the contributions of the psychological and linguistic components.

Cost and terms

from RUB 90 000. The exact price depends on the volume of materials, the number of persons and questions, the need for in-person participation and urgency.
